About Us

In 2008, Manjula Singh and Tina McGonagill decided to create Nirvana.  Their intent was to give art lovers’ access to ‘Affordable’ Contemporary Indian Art which was aesthetically pleasing and provide long term returns on investment and to promote and mentor emerging and recently established artist by providing them access to a wider segment to the market. They strongly believed that “Good art does not have to be expensive and expensive art is not always good”.

They decided to focus on unlocking the latent demand in the market by bringing forth affordability of art, working directly with carefully selected number of artists and by interacting face to face with most of the art buyers and artists to give a personal touch.

Manjula Singh born into a family of collectors has a keen eye for fine art and has strong relationship with many of today’s established artists.  She serves to promote and nourish the career of an artist.  She believes that there are many talented artists who lack the skills to develop themselves professionally and that their time is better spent cultivating their craft.

Manjula states that the voice of an artist is expressed through his art and it is the responsibility of an audience to listen to what that voice is saying.  “The thumbprint of every generation can be defined by the art it leaves behind”.

Tina McGonagill holds a Masters of Philosophy in the History of Art & Connoisseurship from Christie’sLondonand has worked as a private art consultant / curator inLos Angeles,New YorkandLondon.  Her experience of curating exhibitions and in assisting clients buy fine art has helped Nirvana to locate good talent.

Nirvana is ably assisted by Rennu Dhindsa in helping and sponsoring Artists in promoting and putting up Art Exhibitions and to bring their Art to the potential art lovers & customers. Nirvana encourages art appreciation by telling prospective buyers and investors that “Art is not always about buying, but about appreciation”.
